WHAT IS ANIMAL ENERGY HEALING?
Animal Reiki, or Animal Energy Healing, takes a distinct approach compared to its application in humans. Allowing animals to guide their healing session is crucial. Instead of directly applying hand positions, I present the energy to them, ensuring they feel in control of the process.
Reiki encompasses the entirety of the animal, addressing their mind, body, and spirit. It proves beneficial for various aspects, such as pain management, stress, anxiety, behavioral and emotional issues. Additionally, it fosters a stronger bond between you and your cherished animal companion.
I am so honored to offer Animal Reiki to your fur babies. I proudly received private training in Animal Reiki from Sheryl Schlameuss Berger, a Reiki Master Teacher based here on Long Island, New York. Sheryl is a founding member of the Shelter Animal Reiki Association (S.A.R.A.), actively bringing Reiki to shelters, rescues, and sanctuaries to support animals in need. I'm thankful for the guidance I've received from her renowned Animal Reiki teachings.
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING A SESSION?
I initiate introductions with a gentle approach, maintaining a respectful distance from your animal to honor their space and give them time to acclimate to my presence. Once your furry companion welcomes me into their home or space, I start a brief meditation to tap into divine life force energy. I direct this energy flow through my hands and body, infusing the shared space with healing vibrations.
For your convenience, I also provide distance healing sessions—an equally effective option. However, many pets find hands-on Reiki or being in the physical energy space more enjoyable.

HOW DO I KNOW IF IT IS WORKING?
Here are some signs your fur baby is accepting the energy healing:
They can sense the energy flowing from my hands by licking or smelling.
They maintain eye contact with me.
They show signs of relaxation by yawning or sighing.
They may take a "Reiki nap".
HOW TO PREPARE FOR THE SESSION
Be mindful to fully immerse yourself in the healing energy space alongside your furry companion. By merely being present in this space, you’ll receive healing energy from me. Feel free to join me in meditation at the start of the session if you wish.
I highly recommend approaching this experience with an open mind. Each animal has unique preferences for receiving healing energy, and their responses vary. Allow your fur baby to guide the session; it’s crucial that your family member and I have a designated small space in your home for the energy healing.
Plan ahead to minimize disruptions. Reschedule deliveries and be aware of unexpected visitors. Consider putting a note on your door politely requesting no knocks or doorbell rings as a best practice.

Reiki is a beneficial healing option that can help offer a serene space when preparing our beloved pets for a peaceful transition in the final stages of life. This can also be beneficial for families too, strengthening the bond, providing a shared experience of comfort, love, and healing during this difficult time for all.

GRIEVING THE LOSS OF OUR BELOVED PETS
Grieving the loss of a family member is one of the most difficult experiences we go through. Often times it feels like a very lonely place, but unfortunately many of us have lived through this heartbreak. Here are some ways you and your family can help cope with the loss of your fur baby.
-
Allow Yourself to Grieve: Give yourself permission to feel the pain and sadness. Grieving is a natural part of the healing process.
-
Create a Memorial: Establish a memorial or tribute to your pet. This could be a photo album, a scrapbook, a social media reel or even planting a tree or flowers in their memory.
-
Talk About It: Share your feelings with friends or family who understand the bond you had with your pet. Talking about your pet and your grief can be therapeutic.
-
Seek Support: Consider joining a pet loss support group or seeking counseling to connect with others who are experiencing similar emotions.
-
Express Your Feelings: Write about your pet, your memories, and your feelings. Journaling can be a cathartic way to process grief. You can also write your pet a letter, sharing all the happy memories you had together.
-
Create a Ritual: Establish a meaningful ritual to say goodbye. This could involve a small ceremony, lighting a candle, or any other symbolic act.
-
Remember the Good Times: Focus on the positive memories you shared with your pet. Celebrate their life rather than dwelling solely on their passing.
-
Take Care of Yourself: Ensure you’re eating well, getting enough rest, and engaging in activities that bring you comfort and joy. A personal Reiki session may benefit you or your family members dealing with the loss.
-
Donate or Volunteer: Consider donating to a pet-related charity or volunteering at an animal shelter in honor of your pet. It can be a positive way to channel your grief. If you aren’t sure where to start, I am a volunteer with One Love Dog Rescue, Inc. 501c3. They are always in need, contact them directly to see how you can help!
-
Give Yourself Time: Grieving is a personal process, and everyone copes differently. Be patient with yourself and allow time for healing.
Remember that losing a pet is a significant loss, and it’s absolutely okay to seek professional help if needed.
